Summer Yoga Music & Books

Summer Yoga Music & Books

Yoga in the summer is always such a pleasure for me, as it’s a time to take my practice outside! I’ve had the joy of filming online classes for Yoga Netra (soon to be unveiled), presenting at Inshala Festival and Bhujanga Festival. Soon, I’ll be enroute to a lil cabin in the woods for some rejuvenation time and Omega in NY for a month. Soaking in the sun as much as I can!

Since so many people take holidays in the summer, this newsletter will include my recent favourite music & books. I hope it helps to inspire your yoga both on and off the mat this summer!

  • Shantaram, by Gregory David Roberts (this was published in 2003, and only now am I diving into it…an interesting glimpse into the underworld of Mumbai!)
  • Oneness, by Rasha
  • 5 Love Languages, by Gary Chapman
  • Bhagavad Gita, Jack Hawley
  • Broken Open, Elizabeth Lesser
  • Kaminanda: Electronic, Tribal
  • Erothyme: Hmm…too hard to describe…
  • Random Rab: sweet chill out & beats
  • Saqi: Wicked beats with live trumpet
  • DJ Drez & Marti Nikko: Funky Dub meets Mantra
  • Fabrizio Paterlini: Piano, rich, heart opening
  • Nils Frahm: Soul-soaked Piano
  • Lowercase Noises: Ambient Post-Rock Guitar
  • Om Namah Sivaya: A link to this beautiful chant, sung by Inspired Yoga Institute’s Summer Yoga Teacher Training Intensive
  • B-Yoga Mat: The stickiest mat I’ve found…love practicing on it!
